Tool 28 of The Child Care Toolkit for Emergency and Post Emergency Response (ACE Toolkit) is an example of the Draft Standard Operating Procedures for Supporting Children’s Community-Based Care Placements (SOPs). These were developed from the Haiti response (2010) by Katherine Williamson for the IRC, and provide an example set of the tasks required by those identifying, assessing and placing separated and unaccompanied children in an emergency, in accordance with the national context and required procedures. This Form (Tool 28) is part of the tools and guidance in the ACE Toolkit designed to facilitate the process of planning for and implementing interim care and related services for children separated from or unable to live with their families during an emergency. The Toolkit includes the following 3 resources: Summary Guidance, Extended Guidance, and a range of tools to assist in the implementation of quality care.
