Country report of Zambia on the situation of children in residential care in anticipation of the Second International Conference on Children and Residential Care: New Strategies for a New Millennium, to be held in Stockholm 12 – 15 May 2003. The report looks at the current two models of child care in Zambia (institutions and day-care centres), and how to best mobilise communities to support families in order to prevent children from being deprived of family care.
