Bangladesh is one of the most disaster prone countries in the world with a regular cycle of floods, storms and cyclones affecting millions of people, particularly children. Save the Children's child-centred Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) initiatives in Bangladesh have focused on building the capacity of children and communities to better respond and cope with disaster events. Collectively, the programmes have reached over 220,000 children directly and over 1 million indirectly.
