Like many other countries in Central America, El Salvador is highly exposed to natural disasters - hurricanes, earthquakes, floods and landslides are recurring and have led to the loss of many lives. Year after year, communities attempt to re-build their livelihoods amidst the damage caused by disasters. Save the Children and its partners integrated health information and interventions into disaster risk reduction activities with a special focus on the most vulnerable groups that are often overlooked in both preparation and in response to emergencies.
