Save the Children’s Resource Centre is an online portal managed by Save the Children Sweden that hosts comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date information on child protection and child rights, which are important areas of Save the Children's work globally.
Awareness of children’s right to protection against all forms of violence in all settings has rapidly grown on the international agenda, and there is a greater need for finding and sharing quality information around these issues. Access to reliable information is essential to prevent and measure the extent of violence against children. It is also necessary to improve capacity building in children’s rights and child protection, and to share good practices and innovative methods. Save the Children seeks to strengthen child protection and child rights governance in all its work for and with children and moving the child rights agenda forward is a way to promote lasting and sustainable change for children.
The purpose of Save the Children’s Resource Centre is to make child rights and child protection information, resources and tools available in one convenient location. It is meant to provide reliable and easily retrievable information for people who are committed to the cause of children within a right’s based perspective.
On our site you will find thematic and country information designed to promote child protection and child rights governance. The Child Protection section presents rich and varied information on Save the Children’s programme activities in the different regions, and focuses on children’s right to be protected from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. The Child Rights Governance section deals with the promotion of local child rights related governance structures and systems that facilitate the realization of the rights of children and increase awareness among civil society and children to promote children’s rights.
The Resource Centre provides on-line access to Save the Children’s eLibrary, which contains full-text digitised publications on issues related to children’s right to protection against abuse, neglect, violence and exploitation, and child rights governance.
