The search box
When entering word/s or a phrase in the search box, the search engine examines all of the words in every stored document in the digital library.
Search for full document title
In order to search for a phrase or a full document title, use quotation marks (" ") around the suggested sentence. Then the search engine will look for text that correspond with the exact phrase or title.
+ and -
Boolean operators + (AND) and – (NOT) can be used to increase the precision of a search. The operator OR is a default operator in the text field. OR is used when at least one of the terms you specify must appear in the document, and it lets you include different spellings or synonyms into your search for a wider range of results. Using – before a word implies that the word must not match to get a result (same effect as NOT) and narrows the search by excluding certain words.
Alternative endings (*)
It is possible to truncate by adding an asterisk (*) at the end of a word. Truncating or wildcard means that the library's search engine is looking for alternative endings of that word, i.e. the search word child* becomes child, children, children’s, childhood, etc.
